Navigating Zion National Park  Highway 9 and Highway 89 meet in Mount Carmel Junction were access to Bryce Canyon National Park and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon are just a short distance away.  Zion Canyon is accessed via the 6 mile Zion Canyon Scenic Drive, but this is only one small section of Zion National Park.  The Zion Canyon Scenic Drive is open year-round.  From April to October it is traveled only via the free Zion Canyon Shuttle and from October to April private vehicles are allowed during the parks slower season when the shuttles are not running.  The Zion-Mt. Carmel Highway (SR 9) runs from the south entrance of the park to its terminus in Mt. Carmel Junction on the east side of the park. This road is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Oversized Vehicles
