Explore Sremski Karlovci, a history- and culture-rich town rich Serbian town considered a political and spiritual capital. Between 1848 and 1849, it was designated the capital of Vojvodina - a self-proclaimed Serbian province - and between 1848 and 1920, it served as the official seat of the Patriarchate of Karlovci - an office of the Eastern Orthodox Church. Today, Sremski Karlovci is renowned for its Baroque architecture and wine production. During a guided tour, you'll discover a handful of Serbian landmarks, including the Patriarch's Palace and the oldest Serbian grammar school. You'll also visit a beekeeping museum - which also doubles as a wine cellar - where you'll savor samples of locally made wine and honey.
