Evelyn Louise Fifield
September 25, 1938 - June 24, 2022

PRINT Evelyn Louise Fifield, 83, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022.

A graveside service will be held at 3pm on Friday, July 1, 2022, at Salem Cemetery in Independence, Missouri.

Evelyn was born on September 25, 1938, in Independence to John W. Weeks, Sr. and Lillian E. (Chapman) Weeks. She graduated from William Chrisman High School and went on to do many things in her life that she enjoyed with the support of her husband and children. She drove a school bus for Fort Osage School District, assisted in a veterinarian clinic, opened Fifield's General Store which included a greenhouse and quilt shop, worked in the ILL department and then as a printer for Mid-Continent Public Library, and then for Peggy's Cakes where she assisted with baking and decorating. She was a member of the Raytown Garden Club and life-long member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Independence. Evelyn was very talented at whatever she put her hands to, but her passion was her family. She adored being a mother, grandmother, and GG.

Evelyn is survived by her children, Robin Shockley of Blue Springs, Missouri and Bart (Cathy) Fifield of Independence; grandchildren, Nicole (Shawn) Hammond of Stover, Missouri, Natalie Cooper of Blue Springs, Missouri, Kelly S. (Allyssa) Shockley of Grain Valley, Missouri, and Jennifer (Donny) McCon, of Independence; great-grandchildren, Katelynn, Hailey, Shawna, Aubreigh, Ronni, Aubra, and Jameson; brother, Edwin O. (Carol Lee) Smith of Sibley, Missouri, as well as, her dear companion, Ed "Pa" Essig of Independence. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert L. Fifield; son-in-law, Kelly R. Shockley; and her sister, Rae Rudewick.
