Mary K. (Samuels) Michaels 1937 - 2004

Mary K. Michaels, 67, of Independence, Miussouri, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at the Medical Center of Independence.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2004, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Noland Road Chapel; burial will be at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2004, at the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Polio Society.

Mary was born February 11, 1937, in Carrollton, Miussouri. She was a survivor of the 1952 Polio epidemic. She was a 1956 graduate of William Chrisman High School and married Melvin Edward Baughman on September 15, 1957, and was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and attended the Stone Church. She was also a member of the Daughters of America.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary (Harris) Samuels. Survivors include a son, John Baughman and his wife, Kay Khristy of Wellington, Miussouri; a daughter, Tina M. Cook of Garden City, Kansas; a brother, George Aaron Samuels and his wife, Jessie, of Westminster, Maryland; eight grandchildren; and three greatgrandsons.
