Randall Max Pieratt 1938 - 2011

Randall Max Pieratt, 73, of Independence, Missouri, went home to be with the Lord, August 20, 2011 at the Kansas City Hospice House.

A Celebration of Max's life will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main St., Blue Springs, Missouri. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., at the chapel, prior to service. Memorial contributions may be made to the KC Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Rd., KCMO. Graveside service Wednesday, time to be announced at a later date, with military honors in Missouri Veterans Cemetery Higginsville, Missouri.

Max was born May 14, 1938, the son of Luther and Reba (Phelps) Pieratt, in Hume, Missouri. He worked for Hallmark Cards for 37 years retiring in 1993. He served in the US Army. He was a member of the Country Meadows Baptist Church of Independence, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his daughter-in- law, Mary Ann (Samer) Pieratt, on March 5, 2009.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Deanna L. (Cary), of the home; two sons, Kevin Daniel Pieratt, of Platte City, Missouri, and Jeffery Randall Pieratt, and wife, Kimberly; his beloved grandson, Tyler, of Lansing, KS; cousin, Penny Byerley, of Bonner Springs, Kansas; many relatives and friends, and faithful dog, Fancy.
