Sally (Marshall) Deer 1938 - 2016

Sally Deer died 12 January 2016, at her home in Sibley. She was 77 years old.

She was born Sally Mason Marshall to Aubrey H. Marshall and Roberta L (Berry) Marshall on 4 November 1938.

In 1956, she married George R Deer. That union produced three daughters, Debbie Jackson and Kendra Van Tuyl, both of Eastern Jackson County and Shannon Twenter of Pilot Grove.

During their marriage, Sally and George opened and ran an auto repair shop in Independence, Deer Auto. Shortly after George’s death in 1997, Deer Auto was sold and Sally was employed for the remainder of her working career at LamCraft in Lee’s Summit.

Sally was a lover of nature. She always had a vast array of cactus plants and enjoyed watching and feeding the birds. She was also an avid reader and puzzle solver.

She enjoyed the company of her family and church family at the United Methodist Church in Buckner.

Sally leaves three daughters, seven grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be Friday, January 15th, 2:00 pm at Newcomers Noland Road Chapel. Burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Family suggests, in lieu of flowers, donations to the United Methodist Church of Buckner, Missouri direction of Noland Road Chapel, Independence, Missouri .
