Shirley Irene (Chiles) Dyer 1938 - 2015

Shirley Irene Dyer, 75, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2013, surrounded by her family.

Her devoted husband, Joseph, daughter, Diana Hill, son, Don Dyer with wife, Julie, brother, Ron Chiles with wife, Glenda, grandchildren Kim Hill, Courtney Cochran, Kelly And Kyle Dyer, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews celebrate her arrival with The Lord Jesus Christ!

Mrs. Dyer was born February 24, 1938, in Independence, Missouri. She graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1956. Shirley married Joseph Dyer on August 22, 1958, and spent the last 55 years loving Joe and her family.

She retired from the Department of Defense in 1999 after 33 years. She then worked in the accounting department for the Community of Christ, Central Mission Center.

As a lifelong member of the Community of Christ Church, Lee's Summit Congregation, Shirley was ordained an Elder in the church in 1996. She has touched the lives of many with her gentle and quiet spirit and will continue to be in His Service.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 7, at the Community of Christ Church, 1101 N.E. Independence Avenue, Lee's Summit, Missouri. Donations in memory of Shirley's life here on earth can be made to Outreach International or Abolish Poverty, End Suffering in care of Community of Christ.
