2009 Class Updates

I am sorry to report that Sarah Ketchum Evans passed away this morning, 15 minutes after they "pulled the plug."

I'm really sad to lose a dear friend, but am thankful that the Lord did call her home today.  She was only breathing, not "living" and it hurt everyone to see her so.   Funeral plans are in the making.   I just wanted to let you know that we've lost another classmate.  You stay safe and well.  Please.  I want you around.

The correct info about Sally Knoop is that she was involved in a serious accident last June or July.  She is now in a wheelchair because she has a heavy cast on her leg and cannot put weight on her foot/leg (due to skin grafting).  She hopes to be out of the wheelchair in another week or so.

I'm sorry to report that Don Boone died Wednesday, October 5th.  His visitation is Thursday, 7-9 p.m. at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO.   Graveside service is Friday, 11 a.m. (Oct 9th) at the Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville.

I just received word on this and thought I'd share it with you.   "Old Age" just is not good......

Monty Russell went to the doctor, had a CAT scan, and they discovered a large tumor on his brain.  It was not there a few months earlier, so the doctors believe it was a very fast growing tumor.  Thank goodness they found it before it was "too late."  Monty had the 5 hour surgery on the 16th of June.  He's been in a facility recovering, and is doing much better now.   He hopes that he can go home tomorrow.   He has asked for someone to go stay with him for at least a couple of days...yes, I've found someone who (I think and hope) will go.

I might also add that I've heard that Pat Heady is now in a nursing home.  A couple of us have not been able to get in contact with her nor heard from her lately.   Even though I know she was wheelchair bound, I hope it hasn't gotten to where she's now in a nursing home.

I might as well send this reminder out now......   our class breakfast at the Big Biscuit on Wednesday, July 8th at 10 a.m.   I will not be able to be there this time.  So sorry, as it really means a lot to me to see those of you who do attend.  You do mean a lot to me, and it's always a joy to see you again.  And don't forget about the class picnic on August 15th.

Saw Bill Moore and his wife at the grocery store this afternoon.  His wife is having hip surgery Tuesday, so they won't be at the breakfast Wednesday.  She'd appreciate your prayers, as she's very nervous about the upcoming surgery.

Jack Brown is going to Virginia and Washington, DC Sunday, and won't be back for awhile, so they, also, won't be at the breakfast.    (Be sure you attend....)

Went to Joy Kennon's visitation earlier this week.  Please....do not leave us until we all decide to go together.  I want you all here while I'm still here.   Okay?????
