PROJECT SHINE
When Schools Gleam, Kids Beam
From:
www4.indep.k12.mo.us/project_shine/index.html
It has been another great year in the Independence School District.
With the help of our community partners we have had many successes
which have made a positive impact on the lives of our students.
Project Shine provides another opportunity for community members,
parents, faculty, and staff to gather together, roll up their
sleeves, and put an extra shine on five of our schools in the
district: Glendale Elementary School, Luff Elementary School, Ott
Elementary School, Randall Elementary School, and Truman High
School.
Project Shine will take place one weekend, every year. The
Independence School District will lead volunteer-based projects at
designated schools to clean, paint and update. We invite you to make
a difference with the second annual Project Shine on July 17, 2010.
Volunteer support is key to the success of Project Shine. We are
currently seeking corporate sponsors, supplies and volunteer teams
for painting and cleaning projects at the five Project Shine
schools. If you would like more information on becoming a Project
Shine volunteer or donor, please contact the Independence School
District Project Shine Coordinator, Lori Worth Smith, at
816-804-0679 or
lori_worthsmith@indep.k12.mo.us.
Get started today by completing an online application. Together, we
can make our community shine!
